The place

A short way from the centre of Byron Bay, The Bower keeps to two colours. Black and white, inside and out. The monotone facade sets the register; the rooms hold it, with bespoke furnishing, plush bedding, and Le Labo and Kevin Murphy in the bathrooms. Options run from rooms for two to a cottage that sleeps ten.

At the centre, a natural mineral pool ringed by lush tropical gardens and black daybeds. A garden bar beside it, pouring drinks and passing snacks.

Lekker bikes and yoga mats are there to borrow, on the house. A small spa handles massages and facials. A Nespresso machine and a gourmet minibar in the room; wifi throughout.
