The place
Corktown, one of Detroit's oldest neighborhoods, on the city's western side. The Godfrey opened in August 2023, a 4-star hotel in a newly built structure with an industrial face of brick and metal.
Inside, 226 oversized rooms and suites in white, black, and wood, industrial touches carried through. Frette linens, a Samsung TV, a Bose speaker, C.O. Bigelow in the bath. Every room welcomes pets.
A modern fitness center is on site. For meals, Hamilton's cooks seasonal American food from local produce. Up top, I/O is the rooftop lounge, pouring a curated list of cocktails alongside light bites.
