The place

A nineteenth-century mansion in Porto with a pink facade and a literary heart. The staircase alone is worth the pause — a cupola above, stucco reliefs worked by hand.

Each of the 24 suites is dedicated to a Portuguese writer or poet. Rich textures, grand windows, lofty ceilings. Crystal chandeliers, curated antiques, and marble bathrooms wrapped in mirrors.

In the courtyard, a lap pool lies still among plush loungers and lush greenery. The spa waits inside, with revitalizing treatments. At Blind Restaurant, chef Vítor Matos builds a Mediterranean-inspired menu from seasonal, regional produce.
